为了庆祝南昌大学百年辉煌教育,南昌大学与英国伦敦玛丽女王大学将举办两校的生物医学学术论坛,世界顶尖基因组学科学家、伦敦玛丽女王大学医学院临床药学教授Mark Jonathan Caulfield博士作主旨报告;两校生物医学领域的优秀科学家作学术报告以及玛丽女王学院毕业生代表汇报研究进展。

报告人简介

Dr. Sir Mark Jonathan Caulfield is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the William Harvey Research Institute of Queen Mary University of London and an internationally renown scientist. He was Director of William Harvey Research Institute, elected to the Academy of Medical Sciences and was President of the British Hypertension Society. He leads on all scientific activities for Genomics England. He engages with NHS scientific teams and the general public to promote, explain and enthuse about the 100,000 Genomes Project. He also oversees a coalition of 2500 researchers which comprise the Genomics England Clinical Interpretation Partnership. Since 2014,he has been one of the top 200 most highly cited researchers in the world in genomics according to Thomson Reuters.

Dr.Guifen is a lecturer in Neurobiology in the department of psychology at Queen Mary University of London. Guifen received her PhD in neuroscience from East China Normal University. Her group at QMUL focus on studying how sensory inputs are integrated at the neural network level to form spatial representation in the brain. Her long-term research interests lie in the network mechanisms of spatial cognition and episodic memory in healthy and diseased brains.

Dr.Peter Thorpe completed a PhD at the University of Edinburgh with Noreen Murray studying viral restriction. He undertook post-doctoral training with David Porteous, also at the University of Edinburgh and Rodney Rothstein, at Columbia University, New York studying genetic recombination and kinetochore function. The research goal of the Thorpe lab is to understand the regulation of cell division. Cell division is the process that creates new cells to replace aged or damaged tissues in our body, however, uncontrolled cell division is the defining characteristic of cancer.

Dr. Viji Draviam is a professor of Quantitative Cell and Molecular Biology and Director of Industrial Innovation at the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Queen Mary University of London. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that underpin cell division. Her research has been recognized with MIT-IDEAS development award, Cambridge Commonwealth fellowship, Yunus Innovator Challenge Prize, Cancer Research UK Career Development fellowship and CambridgeSens Innovation Prize.

Dr. Jianbin Wang is currently a professor of Oncology, and Dean of School of Basic Medical Sciences and Director of Institute of Biomedical Sciences at Nanchang University. He received the honour of "National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Leading Scientists Program". He is a panel-review member for National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and reviewer for multiple scientific journals. Dr. Wang's research interests mainly focus on cancer cell metabolism including glutamine metabolism, serine metabolism, ketone body metabolism, glycolysis and anti-cancer drug selection.

Dr. Hong Kui, Professor of Medicine. She is a chief physician, deputy director of Cardiovascular Department and head of Department Medical Genetics at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, director of Jiangxi Key Laboratory of Molecular Medicine, and director of Institute of Cardiology, Nanchang University. She holds the honour of "National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Leading Scientists Program" and "Leader of the Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education". Professor Hong has published 64 articles in peer-reviewed journals including Circulation, with a total citation of more than 1500 times.
